Winter Wear: Cold Weather Styles for Kids

My Kindergartner recently wrote his first story. Albeit a challenge to decipher, it’s about leaves. “They sound like chips when you step on them” he proudly declared. This sweet five-year-old perspective will stick with me forever. Kids are meant to always play outside. Their minds and bodies grow while they race across the asphalt and when they conquer the next big tree; alongside observing their world and the simple things, like the sound of leaves beneath their feet.

New York City has had a pretty mild Fall, but the official shift to cold weather is practically here. I like to layer the kids in the wintertime.  Sometimes classrooms are hot but outside air is shockingly brisk.  It simplifies things when clothes mix-and-match well, and we turned to P.S. from Aéropostale again this season to help the little ones conquer the cold.

I like the simplicity of being able to shop online for unique and on-trend clothing for my kids without the hefty price tag.

Hello Hawaii: Aloha Print Summer Trends For Girls

I suppose that I’ll always been drawn to things that take me back to my time spent living on Oahu – and I naturally love one of the latest trends in girls’ summer styles: Hawaiian inspired clothing!

On Styling Boys

We’re finally beginning to see an end to winter and we’ll soon be transitioning into spring wear.  The stores are brimming with signs of warmer times, and we all can’t wait to swap cumbersome layers for cool spring styles.  We often hear that styling boys is much more challenging than finding great styles for girls.  We disagree!  Building a super cool boy’s wardrobe can be fun and simple.  Just follow a few guidelines to make meshing pieces a breeze.

P.S. from AeropostaleEvery season, we love stocking up on cool boys’ clothes and accessories from P.S. from Aeropostale.   Like many busy parents, I prefer to shop online, and I’m always impressed with the fun styles and great bargains packed into each order.  All of the above from P.S. from Aeropostale can be mixed and matched with ease.  Keep your little man too-cool-for-school with our styling tips for boys.

  •  Go For the T – Cool T-shirts for boys are an absolute must.  Look for great graphics and complementary colors. We can never get enough of heather gray and black on our little man.  And if he happens to have a sister – let her borrow from the boys’ section.  We love the look of brother’s T-shirts on our girl.
  • Say Yes To Color –  Splashing color into his wardrobe helps to spruce things up.  Pair a nice oxford shirt with bold-color jeans.  Add Wayfarer-style sunglasses and fun kicks, and he’s good to go!
  • Add Sporty Comfort – Great sporty pieces will keep him comfortable while being practical for school and actives.  Go for colors and styles that don’t scream “sweat pants” to keep his causal-look tailored.
  • Incorporate Great Accessories – Who says that girls get to have all the fun? Pull an outfit together with a great pair of shades or a fly hat.  Look for colors and styles that will compliment his existing wardrobe.

We believe that our kids need to have the freedom to make their own fashion choices too.  Just present them with great options to mix and match, and they’ll look and feel like superstars!

Summer Style With PS From Aéropostale

I always look forward to a good spring cleaning.  There is something cathartic about getting rid of things and clearing up space.  That being said, the big girl suddenly grew out of everything.  The clothes that we somehow managed to stretch for multiple seasons seem so tiny next to her growing body.

I was recently introduced to  P.S. from aéropostale epic kids at an exclusive shopping event hosted by my friend Brianne, of Stroller in the City.  With sizes ranging from 4 – 14, it was my first time in an actual P.S. store – I’m still getting used to shopping in the big girls section!  I found plenty of bright colors and fun prints for my daughter with the help of Brianne who has a natural eye for style.  The boys’ collections also had great selections with bold colors, cool graphic T shirts and super hero themed items.

The kids were entertained with an in-store DJ, coloring activities, a fun photo booth and treats galore.

I think we even had a future DJ in the house.

Marino Bambinos received a gift card.  Opinions, as always are my own.
