Potty Training & Pull-Ups Prize Pack Giveaway {Sponsored}

The littlest Marino is turning into quite the big boy.   It’s hard to believe that in just one month, we’ll be celebrating three joyous years since the day we first met him.  He’ll soon transition into a brand new bed and I’ll be revamping his shared bedroom to reflect a bit more of his growing interests.  Although I’m often nostalgic over tiny baby memories, I am so proud of Adrian’s growing independence.  We’re frequently celebrating what feels like huge milestones in casa Marino, including Adrain’s potty training success (thank you big sister for all your help with this one)!

Three cheers for our big boy!  We’re celebrating every flush!

Pull-Ups has helped support our potty training journey with their Disney character infused products.  Just like the Disney Princesses helped motivate my Lucia Paloma to kick diapers, Adrain is bonkers over the Cars toilet-seat that was sent to him.  He is comfortable in his Cars Pull-Ups and sleeps in them at night.  Since their cool learning designs indicate when he stays dry (designs fade when wet), morning celebrations are now a frequent occurrence.   I’m a huge fan of the Pull-Ups flushable wipes – as mama is the principle tush cleaner-upper over here!

Proudly stating the name of all of  the cars on his new toilet seat.

We’ve even had the chance to commend Adrian’s efforts in 3D by downloading the Pull-Ups Big Kid App. Since every try deserves a little celebration, children earn virtual stars that are used to unlock special rewards.  This is a cool activity for my praise-seeking toddler because he earns short games with his favorite Disney Characters.  Adrian now asks to see his beloved Buzz Lightyear as soon as he finishes washing his hands.

The Printed Palette {Giveaway}

I’m a comfy-Tee-kind of gal but am into fashion and feeling good about myself.  I’m also a steadfast brand loyalist when it comes to many clothing pieces.  Once I find something I love (like a favorite Tee) I purchase a handful and incorporate them into my every day.

I was instantly hooked on The Printed Palette from the moment I viewed their website.  Founded in California by a creative couple – their clothing boasts unique designs with inspiring words and beautiful typography.  I’ve been wearing the life out of their neon Live Life Anchored Boyfriend Baseball Tee and I love celebrating my littles dual awesomeness in their It’s Awesome Time Kids Tee.  Their fit is impeccable, and their brilliantly printed garments haven’t shown signs of fading after multiple washes.  I’m not surprised that they were incredibly successful at the 2013 Oscar’s Gifting Suite.  In addition to great t-shirts, they have maxi dresses, pillows and a killer hottie mens line – they know how to outfit an entire family!

The Printed Palette has teamed up with me and the lovely Casey Leigh from the Wiegands to giveaway two $100 mystery boxes.  The winners will specify sizes and gender and receive a mystery package of $100 of garments in their requested gender specific sizes.

Enter to win in the rafflecopter below. US only and the winning entries will be verified.  Good Luck and thanks for visiting!

Phone Case Envy – Tandem {Giveaway}

I’m a recovering chronic phone-wrecker.  I’ve improved drastically as I’ve gotten older, yet due to my phone-destruction history, my case purchases have been primarily based on durability.  I suppose I’ve always lamented the fact that my cases were blah and boring.

Not any more! Tandem Stills + Motion,  a company with one of the world’s leading collections of licensable stock photographs and motion clips sent me my first gorgeous case.  The company was founded by a second-generation photographer seeking to reignite photography passions and help emerging and veteran photographers strengthen their own businesses (while giving 50% of all profits back to the photographers providing images).

I went for the party lights case from their abstract collection for my iphone 4S.  I ordered it in tough (we all know why)  as opposed to their barely there version.  I love it, and guess what?  So far so good!

Check out my Party Lights case and Tandem’s entire  phone case collection.

Want in on the goods? Tandem is giving away two cases to two Marino Bambinos readers. Simply enter to win in the below rafflecopter and two winners will be selected next week.  US only and winning entry methods are verified.  Good Luck and thanks so much for visiting!

LeapFrog LeapPad 2 & Mr. Pencil Ultra eBook {Giveaway}

When it comes to education and little people, I am a tremendous believer in unstructured play (often involving dirt and mess).  In fact, a few years ago, I was the sort of parent who shunned the majority of battery operated learning toys.  As my first child grew (as did my experiences in parenting) my perspective shifted a bit (along with some of my other parenting philosophies).  I’m still a huge proponent of learning through creative play, but also see how appropriate time with fun educational devices can enhance the learning process.

Over the past eight months, I’ve had the chance to review many LeapFrog products and learn about the extensive process of consumer and educational research involved in their product development. I am incredibly impressed with the LeapPad2 Explorer (and not just because I’ve been able to repo my iPad). I appreciate that it can be programmed to the child’s specific level, is virtually indestructible, and isn’t directly connected to the Internet (unlike the iPad and its strong temptation to solely YouTube).  The high educational quality of LeapFrog’s content is ingeniously presented in a fun and exciting way that my own children enjoy.

Lucia has been quite empowered by taking on the “teacher” role while helping her little brother learn to use his LeapPad.  They are definitely not the sort of toys that are quickly forgotten about and left on a shelf.

Our LeapPads recently made our (expected) hour long wait at our pediatrician’s office (while hungry!)  pretty painless.  The kiddos created and compared pictures in the art studio app and took care of their virtual pets in the Pet Pad writing app (both apps come free with the LeapPad 2).

Lucia also captured her own photos and video on her LeapPad 2, while taking in Petite Parade’s Kids Fashion Week in NYC from front row seating:

I recently had an insider view of the makings of LeapFrog’s newest Ultra eBook Mr. Pencil and the Lost Colors of Doodleburg, through a teleconference with the eBook’s creation team.  Mr Pencil (created for ages 4 – 7) helps strengthen writing skills through various entertaining handwriting activities.  The handwriting components in Mr Pencil are sequenced in a developmentally appropriate way, teaching proper stroke order.   The writing activities begin with basic letter strokes (comprised of vertical and horizontal lines) and gradually move to letters comprised of curved and angled lines.

As a parent, I appreciate that the game is customizable.  The reading component is auto-leveled with three different tiers, and the handwriting portions also have separate learning levels.  Thus catering to a wide range of learners, including some children who may be strong readers but need to build their writing skills..

The storyline  is definitely entertaining as the player must help Mr. Pencil and friends rescue the colors (representing creativity and imagination) form the (non-scary) villain Dr. Dull.  Lucia connected to Mr. Pencil immediately, and I’ve observed her taping on words to see their definition in an animated virtual dictionary.  As she has progressed on to the next level, she sees longer sentence structure and a more sophisticated vocabulary than the previous level.  Like all LeapFrog Learning games, the child becomes an integral part of the storyline, making it a fun adventure while building fundamental skills.

Win It!

Leapfrog is providing one lucky reader with a LeapPad 2 (in the winner’s choice of green or pink) and Mr. Pencil Ultra eBook (total MSRP $120).   Enter to win in my below rafflecopter.  This contest is open to US only and the winning entry will be verified.  Good luck to all!
