Spreading Happiness With a Disney Kids Preschool Playdate

Walt Disney World Resort’s and MomSelect selected us to host a Disney Kids Preschool Playdate and sent us a fun celebration kit. Thanks for reading!

Over the past few years, we’ve had a great catalyst to throw some pretty fun bashes – and we were so excited to join again in the Disney Kids Preschool Playdate fun, all thanks to the Happiest Place On Earth.  We’ll certainly welcome all the happy that we can get around here and bringing kids together with Disney-infused magic equals guaranteed joy!

Our fun morning began in our home with some simple snacks and fun!  Inside little cartons, I set up a table with carrots, raisins, mini cream cheese sandwiches on cinnamon raisin bread, dried seaweed (I promise kids love it!), cookies and clementines.  For a special (healthier) treat, we served chilled Nesquick in milk.  Fun Disney party supplies with additional pops of red pulled our party theme together.

Before moving outside, we had a “make-a-goodie-bag” station bringing on Olympic level excitement. Disney Junior Lion Guard temporary tattoos and animal figurines from Disney’s Animal Kingdom were a big hit! The kids tucked their trinkets into GLAD sandwich zipper bags emblazoned with Disney Pixar’s Cars designs. Along with fun trinkets, the kids grabbed Sofia The First or Jake and The Neverland Pirates crowns, Lion Guard Posters, a Disney Parks preschool map, and a great Disney Junior bag to secure all the loot!

With some balls packed into a Sofia The First themed suitcase from American Tourister, we moved the celebration to our local park. And after a few organized games and creative free play, we thoroughly shared our love for Disney with our equally excited little buddies!

Special thank you to Walt Disney World Resorts and Mom Select for having us host. Visit www.disneyworld.com/preschool for great ideas on planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation with preschoolers.

Disney Kids Preschool Playdate

I’ve previously mentioned that if each stage of littlehood weren’t so exciting and new, I’d feel paralyzed in the babyhood and toddlerhood left behind.  My goodness, how our little people change and become their own in their brilliant ideas, play and specific interests.  And I suppose that I never anticipated how poignant pre-school would be for my sweet son.  He forged true friendships, proudly scribbled his name and colored with passion.  He developed first best friends who appeared in nearly every single hand-sketched family-portrait.  It was heartwarming to see these new connections and important people come into his world.  He even stepped out of his big sister’s shadows – trading in his adoration of Disney Princesses for characters like Buzz and Jake.

My sweet little boy inspired a homemade costume.  I can’t even begin to count the amount of times that he slept in his beloved Jake vest.  And I’ll never forget his concern when a shinny gold button felt off, despite my reassuring promises to simply sew it back on.

Naturally, I was thrilled to host a Dinsey preschool playdate. We had great fun at our previous Disney Side party, and couldn’t wait to celebrate our amazing boy and the friends that are so special to him – with the excitement of a Jake and the Never Land Pirates themed box of goodies from Disney.

Last Saturday, we had a magnificent group of four-year-olds and their mamas come over.  Although I had plans of crafty and baking goodness – preparations shifted as they sometimes do.   I ventured on a press trip to LA involving Disney’s Frozen; we hosted Thanksgiving;  friends came to visit, mama got sick and so much more!  But there is always a lesson in the unexpected, and the great box of Disney goodies provided a perfect little party, without striving to be the Pinterest valedictorian!  The setting was fun with Jake themed supplies, yummy snacks, pizza, salad, and a Jake boat filled with veggies.  I set up a side of the table for the mamas with great supplies from Cheeky. The fun blue chevron coordinated perfectly, and we love that every Cheeky purchase donates a meal to someone who needs it in the U.S. Amazing – right?

Disney Preschool Playdate

Our Disney Preschool playdate was great fun – and preschoolers always have a way of organizing themselves!  The Kinetic sand was a tremendous hit – as were the activities covering the floors with toys, Disney matching games, and themed coloring pages. And when everyone decided to hide under the Christmas tree we suggested testing out the LeapFrog Leap TV.  The Jake Leap TV game was a massive hit!

Naturally we swapped Disney stories – and the big guy declared that he was now tall enough to hop on the rides with his big sister.  Mamas left with travel tags and Disney parks info and hopefully full bellies too!

I’m so happy for our little guy and am committed to bringing the entire gaggle of preschoolers over more often. For amazing party inspiration check out Disney Side Celebrations and also view other parties on social media with the hashtag #DisneyKids.

Special thanks to Disney for having us host and for the fun box of party supplies.

Disney Side Home Celebration Party

Upon the heels of a magical first family vacation to Walt Disney World, I was excited to be selected to host a #DisneySide  Home Celebrations party.  As soon as I received a fantastic American Tourister suitcase full of Disney themed supplies – the party planner in me wanted to go overboard.  As I thought a bit more about my interpretation of Disney Side, I realized that I wanted the party to focus on storytelling and reliving Disney experiences together.  Although there was fun food and  great crafts, the emphasis was on the Disney memories that guests came prepared to share.

I made these fun cookies in honor of my little guy’s favorite Magic Kingdom ride, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.  I loved seeing my three-year-old swell up with pride as he told everyone about his laser powers and meeting Buzz Lightyear.

Lucia’s steadfast attire of choice has been the Queen Elsa Dress that I made for her, and she naturally spoke about meeting her Frozen favorites at Epcot.

Evidence of a great time filled my in-law’s home, as did belly laughter over family Disney stories.

I brought a massive box of chocolates (from the little guy’s school fund raiser) for the best Disney story.  My mother-in-law shared a collection of roller coaster pictures that were snapped of her and her sister at Disney World several years ago.  Their expressions had the entire party in hysterics, as did the stories of reactions from strangers who viewed the images after the ride.  Needless to say, she won the prize!  And I suppose that’s what we all love about Disney – the ability to bring out the child in us all, in a magical place where time seems to stand still throughout generations.

Cheers to celebrating our collective Disney Side!
