Ahoy Mateys!  Jake and his crew of swashbuckling pirates were among the first characters to capture my little boy’s interest.

Mama even made him a Jake and the Never Land Pirates costume to fully inhabit his favorite friendly pirate.

Given his interest, we are thrilled to work with our friends at Disney Junior to help spread the word about their upcoming Disney Junior Family Night Special Event!  Jake and the Never Land Pirates Battle for the Book will premiere on the Disney Channel this Sunday, October 26th, at 6pm EST.

To stir up excitement for special family TV night, Disney Junior surprised our little guy with a fun creative task of  building an epic adventure with an amazing Jake and the Never Land Pirates LEGO® DUPLO® set.

Jake and the Neverland Pirates LEGO DUPLO

Our friendly pirate has been known to disassemble his big sister’s LEGO® Friends sets in a hot minute and express frustration when attempting to rebuild.  That’s why age-appropriate LEGO® DUPLO® sets are perfect for my pre-schooler.   The chunky pieces are easy for his four-year-old hands to manipulate and his confidence soars when following the enclosed directions with my guidance.

We had a really special time building and telling stories together.

Jake’s pirate ship has since been on daily living room adventures to save Never Land.  And guess what? It even has a working cannon (AKA little boy’s dream!).

Disney Junior is encouraging all kids to join in Jake’s Epic Battle Build by using their LEGO® DUPLO® sets to story-tell and create Jake and the Never Land Pirate adventures.  Parents – simply share an image of your child’s LEGO® DUPLO® creations and story on facebook to enter to win exciting prizes in the Epic Battle Build Sweepstakes including an Ultimate LEGO® DUPLO® Prize Pack.

Yo ho ho Mateys!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Disney Junior. Opinions, as always, are my own.

  1. That costume is adorable!!!! My son loves Jake and he loves LEGO!

  2. I love the Jake costume!!! my 2 year old would love the Duplos especially since his older brother is into legos, but he just doesn’t have the dexterity to play with the smaller ones yet. I think this will be a Christmas or birthday gift coming up! Thanks Monica!

  3. I know I saw that costume before and told you that I loved it, but I’ll say it again…SO CUTE!

We love Lego around here…as old as I am, I still enjoy building with my kiddos at school.

    • Thanks Tami! The costume was a breeze. My husband and I both love building with LEGO and I think that we will continue to have with them over the years as the sets become more sophisticated!

  4. I saw this cartoon for the first time yesterday. Too cute and this toy totally rocks.

  5. Oh my goodness. He is adorable! My son is too big for Jake now but I still like the show myself. 🙂

  6. Oh my Jake fan would be all over this one! I love the costume too!

  7. Oh, he looks great! (And I can tell from his face in the photo that he KNOWS he looks good! LOL)

  8. His costume turned out great! I love that Lego set. I want a pirate Lego set to add to our collection.

  9. You did a marvelous job with that costume-sword and all!! Legos has come such a long way from when they first came out. The very fact that Disney wants to partner with them tells you what a great toy it really i.

  10. Look at his cute outfit. You’ve got a great sewing talent (I like to sew too).

The Duplos are awesome, and you’re right they are perfect for the littler ones, they encourage building without frustrating, and they’re way easier to handle than the smaller LEGOs. My son is 7 now, but he still likes both. 🙂
