Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. at Discovery Times Square

With an increasing interest in all things superhero – I couldn’t wait to take the kids to Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibit at Discovery Times Square.  Upon entrance, we were given custom ID cards to participate in immersive S.T.E.M. experiences just like real S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Inside  S.T.A.T.I.O.N. headquarters, we made our way through interactive labs, where we tested our own strengths against Capitan America’s and participated in various science experiments.  The kids are still talking about being blasted with air to prevent contamination while viewing the “bad guys” and the NASA collaboration made quite an impression on my little boy – when given the chance to name his own star while mapping to find Asgard inside the Planetarium.  We were all impressed with the Exosuit Flight Simulator allowing visitors to be Iron Man (in battle armor) controlled by eye-movement.  And the true artifacts from Marvel movies, including Captain America’s shield, were amazing to view!

The incredible synthesis of storytelling and science make this educational exhibit a true treat for Marvel fans. Check it out at Discovery Times Square by January 4, 2015 and purchase tickets here.

My family received press passes.  Opinions, as always, are my own.

  1. That place looks like so much fun…for adults too!! What’s the ideal age to bring kids? My son is 3 1/2 and I always feel like he’s too young for those places!

    • Good question. I do think 3 1/2 may be a bit young – but I would use your discretion. My son, at four, is really into superheros and the exhibit made quite an impression on him.

  2. That is a cool sounding adventure! My son would love it too, I already know. 🙂

  3. Not just kids- I would have a great time there without a doubt :p

  4. The kind of adventures that kids get to do and go on these days is mind blowing! Judging by your pictures, this looks like it was a lot of fun. L and A look enthralled by it all. 🙂

  5. Fantastic! I will go with my sons. We are huge fans.
