Little Swappies

According to the founder of  Little Swappies, “you don’t have to save everything to preserve memories”.  I couldn’t agree more, and wholeheartedly believe in extending the life of things through donating, repurposing and swapping.  I recently had the chance to learn more about this great NYC resource, talk family eco-friendly philosophies and share some of my favorite upcycled sewing projects on their blog.

Little Swappies hosts NYC events that bring families together to swap gently used children’s goods and maternity items – and all leftover items are donated to the Covenant House.  Participating in a swap is a great way to teach children to take care of their planet, and swap-events cater to families offering free babysitting, arts & crafts, music, gift bags and so much more.

  1. This is great. We recycle and donate, but it would be great to get something back to help out with the
Kids needing new clothes as well!

  2. This is a really good idea. People should just organize their own swaps in their own communities.
