The Holiday Photo Shoot & a Minted {Giveaway}

I’m undoubtedly a mama-razzi.  I struggle with being fully present in those moments of transcendent joy and the ever pressing urge to document and encapsulate forever.  The spontaneous moments are always among my most treasured photographs, and the forced photo shoots usually evoke this level of epic cooperation:

Don’t forget to smile kids!

I had it all planned.  I made Adrian a bow-tie in the wee hours of a post Saturday night out on the town.  Lucia chose her favorite Pocahontas boots, a dress was agreed upon, and I even got the boy to wear matching shoes.  We drove to a darling tree farm in Westchester NY and the mama-mandated-pre-Christmas-tree-cutting-Holiday-photo-shoot began.

It manifested into the following Holiday card photo options:

The Statue of Liberty.

The too-tight hugger.

The perpetual blinker and the bizarre toddler.

 The leaner/tongue wagger.

The one child looks good and the other looks bonkers.

When I finally stepped back and stopped directing, the organic goodness came through – as it always does – and oh, did I try to capture it.

As I sat down to review my photos a gracious request to test out minted appeared.  It was all so serendipitous as I’ve been swooning over a minted birth announcement that I recently received.  Details like scalloped boarders, rounded corners, envelope linings and luxurious card stock get me particularly excited.  As do the gorgeous designs and beautiful typography that minted has to offer. Their website is bursting with loveliness, sourced from independent graphic designers all over the world.

I chose to put my precious littles on the Block Printed Mistletoe Holiday Card, designed by Katharine Watson in VT.

I think it’s perfection.

Tiny Prints Holiday Cards {Giveaway}

During my childhood, Holiday cards were always incorporated into the Christmas decorating process.  I looked forward to my mother’s crafty display of cards received – as they were visible reminders of the people we treasured.

Having children naturally added a whole new dimension to the Holiday excitement.  I have so much fun creating cards and laughing at our photo outtakes – but the receiving of cards is what I especially love.  The new tiny bundles dressed in their Holiday best, the joyful couples, and the adored family and friends are prominently displayed in our home during the Holidays.  In this world of electronic correspondence – I hope this tradition will never end!

I am a huge fan of Tiny Prints, as their selection, originality of customized designs and quality of print and card stock is superior to all others that I have tried. I turned to Tiny Prints for the precious birth announcements of both of my children and am thrilled to be sending Tiny Prints Christmas cards this year.  Check out some of my favorite  Holiday Photo Cards and imagine them on their new Premium Double Thick Matte Paper!
