Back to School Style with Kohl’s Magic At Play

I participated in an ambassador campaign on behalf of mom central consulting for Kohl’s.  I received promotional items, samples and gift cards as a thank you for participating.

I have a vivid memory of running my fingers over a satin pink elephant appliquéd to my sweatshirt when I was a preschooler.  I adored everything about that shirt; wanted to wear it all the time and now see similarities in my own children’s choices in clothing.  When given free range to dress themselves, which I believe is important, my kids gravitate towards costumes, props or clothes that transform.  Twirly dresses character-morph several times per day and clothing with graphics often carries magical powers.  The imaginative aspects of six and four-year-old dressing are pretty incredible.

The Kohl’s Jumping Beans collection continues to be a fun fit for my children.  Jake and the Never Land Pirates alongside Sofia the First made a pretty strong presence in our home after a trip to Disney Junior Live!  last Spring.  I even made the boy a Jake inspired costume but had yet to give him Never Land Pirate branded gear.  Naturally, exploring the new exclusive Sofia and Jake Jumping Beans collections, launched this week at Kohl’s, was exciting for my kids.

The details are what make this capsule so special for Back to School.  The below Disney Sofia the First Tiered Dress has a standout jeweled amulet and just the right amount of tulle attached to a comfortable sweatshirt.  I’m pretty sure that it will make my little one feel like she’s costumed – in a school-appropriate way of course.

And the Jake collections for boys perfectly match comfort and Disney magic in really stylish ways.  I suppose that I even find a bit of comfort in sending my little boy off to a new school with his favorite adventurous pirate on his threads.
