Even during an official heatwave, my heart is always happiest in the summertime. Our days are full of barefeet, sprinklers in city parks, sometimes sand, and lots of adventures. This summer feels like a special one for us, and it’s important to me to have more unscheduled (than scheduled) days each week. I want the kids to enjoy their summer sibling-hood together – as I’m familiar with the busyness that often corresponds with wee ones growing bigger. Sometimes there is bickering, but there always is fun. And sun-tired bodies collapse in their beds each night, with the prospect of a full day ahead.
I like to surprise the kids with cold things to cool down, like frozen fruit and the occasional treat. I was recently invited to test out Fruttare – a line of frozen fruit and milk bars that I picked up at my local target. We sampled the Banana and Milk (Platano Y Leche) and Strawberry (Fresca) flavors. They were delicious and creamy, and the boxes somehow disappeared quicker than I anticipated. Most importantly, I remembered that a quick trip outside, with a surprise frozen treat in hand, can work wonders on all of our spirits.
If you’d like to put Fruttare to the taste test, just mention so in the comments, as I have a coupon for one free Fruttare box to giveaway. I’ll select a winner at random in one week. Cheers to summer adventures!
Update: Congratulations Giveaway winner Kera!
